I am going to give brief instructions on how to submit lyrics.
Things to know:
1. All the lyrics are in the "Articles" section. (Edit: I've fixed this so the link itself appears as "Lyrics", although it's still technically the "articles" section)
2. Do not submit multiples.
Instructions:
1. Check in the "Articles" section to see if the lyrics you want to post are already posted.
2. If they are, and you think something needs to be corrected, post a comment. You may also post a comment if you'd like to either compliment the accuracy of the lyrics or if you want to discuss something about the song's deeper meaning or something like that.
3. If the lyrics aren't there, proceed to click "Submit Lyrics" in the side bar on the left.
4. Make sure under "category," you pick the correct album.
5. Type in the song title (under "subject"), and the lyrics (in the article box).
6. For the "snippet" section, post a portion of the song that you feel was memorable or somehow sums up what the song is about.
7. Click "Preview Article" to read it over before you submit it.
8. Click "Submit Article."
9. Your article is now on queue to be reviewed by an administrator, the administrator reserves the right to make alterations to submitted lyrics if he deems it necessary.
Congratulations! You have submitted your very first lyrics for review!
Other Guidelines:
1. The subject is
just the title of the song, do not brand it with anything else, like "lyrics." For example, do not post an article titled "Freak on a Leash Lyrics,” just title it "Freak on a Leash." Considering the fact that this site is called KoRn Lyrics and the Category in this case would be Follow the Leader Lyrics, it’s a bit redundant. If this happens by accident, the administrator will correct it.
2. Try not to overuse punctuation marks such as comas and periods. Question and exclamation marks are generally okay. Also do not use CAPS for loudly screamed lyrics, an exclamation mark will suffice.
3. In some instances, you should use parenthesis around certain parts of the lyrics, particularly those that overlap each other. For instance, at the end of "Somebody, Someone":
I need somebody (Somebody!)
Somebody (Somebody!)
Someone
4. Try to avoid merely posting lyrics you found at standard lyric sites (such as the ones you tend to find on Google)-many of these contain numerous errors and are the reason this site was put together to begin with. If anything, you should only use those lyrics as a starting point from which to make corrections by carefully listening to the actual song.
Lyric Interpretation Tips:
Generally speaking, you should look for things that rhyme with each other, as well as things that seem to make the most sense in the context of the rest of the song. You may have to listen to the song multiple times to really hear what is actually being said. You might also try, if you have the resources, using a center channel extractor to create a sort of "a cappella" version of the song, this is not always fool-proof, but it may be a good tool if you have the resources.
Also, listen to different versions of it, from cover versions to acoustic versions from MTV Unplugged and Alone I Play, and possibly other live versions of the song where the lyrics might sound somewhat more clear.
